No, only a fully licensed and qualified plumber can install our tapware and accessories. Work carried out by anyone other than a fully licensed and qualified plumber will void the Interbath Warranty.
  • What are Interbath mixers constructed from?
Vesi mixers are constructed from grade 304 stainless steel. Kyvos mixers are constructed from solid brass.
  • How are Interbath products finished?
Our products are finished through a process called “electroplating”. This is a process where the colour is fused to the metal by running an electric current through both materials. The result forms an extremely strong bond between the two materials.
  • What’s the maximum operating pressure for Interbath products?
The maximum operating pressure for our tapware and showers is 500kPa. If your water pressure is greater than 500kPa, you will need to have a pressure limiting valve installed on the incoming water line by a qualified professional.
  • What is a water pressure limiting valve and do I need one?

A pressure limiting valve is a device that reduces high water pressure to an acceptable pressure limit. There are two types:

Boundary Valve, which sits on the boundary of your property (at the water meter) and reduces all water coming into the property. Individual Valve, which is placed on the line running into a specific appliance/device, to protect it but not impact the water pressure on other appliances/devices.
  • Can I remove the flow restrictor from my Interbath tapware or shower?
No, it’s illegal to remove the restrictor from a WELS-rated device or appliance. The Water Efficiency Labelling and Standards (WELS) scheme is an Australian Government initiative in partnership with State and Territory Governments.
  • Can an Interbath wall basin mixer be used as a bath mixer?
It’s not recommended, as this is a restricted device. When half filled, your average bathtub is approximately 90 litres and the wall basin mixer is rated at 7.5 litres per minute. It would take a long time to fill the bath and the water would be cold by the time it has been filled. We cannot put an unrestricted aerator into this wall basin mixer, as it contravenes Federal Government WELS legislation.
  • What’s the required bench thickness when installing an Interbath mixer?
This can vary from mixer to mixer. Please have your qualified plumber refer to the printed installation guide when installing your Interbath product.

  • Do I require isolation taps attached to my Interbath products?

Yes. If an Interbath mixer is installed without isolation taps, the product Warranty will be null and void.
  • Do Interbath products contain lead?
All brass materials contain a percentage of lead and cannot be eliminated entirely. The Australian Federal Government passed legislation that all tapware and other products carrying potable water must have their lead content reduced to a maximum of 2%. The deadline to reduce the percentage of lead in brass materials to this acceptable level needs to be completed by January 2026. After this date, it will be illegal for any retailer to carry tapware and accessories containing more than 2% lead.
